A Virginia Farm Wedding Filled with DIY Charm

April 21, 2017. Category: diy, inspiration, real wedding, virginia wedding, weddings

Set in Virginia’s breathtaking farmland this wedding is filled with just the right amount of southern charm, whimsical details and DIY touches! This adorable couple knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding and Panorama Farms was the perfect blank canvas.

This crafty couple worked on many projects during their 17-month engagement here are just a few:

For the ceremony the bride spruced up the grapevine arch and ceremony chairs with various shades of peach and coral fabric that she cut them into strips herself. The result was spectacular! Especially when the wind was blowing.

Along with one of her bridesmaids (who just happened to be have a background in graphic design), the bride created a logo incorporating the barn and the couple’s initials. The logo was used on everything from their invitations to koozies, and all of signage.

The burlap runners on the tables were trimmed with fabric the couple purchased in India.

The couple made the chalkboard sign with a layout of the barn, so the guests could find the restroom or donut truck at any point throughout the night.

Congratulations Katherine and John!

April 16, 2017. Category: anniversary

When you have the pleasure of working with a couple as sweet as Kate and John and their wedding ends up being just as lovely as the couple that is an extra bonus!

The couple wanted their wedding to be both the loveliest and most logistically smooth day that their guests had ever attended – it was important to them that their wedding was beautiful, that it reflected them as people and as a couple, and that guests always knew what was happening, how, and where and in the end they just wanted it to be – lovely. and with Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards as the venue it was a  match made in heaven!

Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, we wish you a lifetime of love, laughter and adventure!

This sweet couple’s classic wedding at the Hay-Adams was the perfect spring soirée, with a dreamy pastel palette, delicate embroidered fabrics, and timely cherry blossom accents in our nation’s capital! The bride carried an elegant bouquet of pastel-hued roses, hydrangeas, ranunculus, and garden roses by Highway to Hill that we are still swooning over!

Happy First Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Flak we wish you a lifetime of love and laughter!

Happy National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day!

April 12, 2017. Category: food, national grilled cheese sandwich day, real wedding

Did you know that today, April 12th is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day?

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are among one of the top comfort foods in the United States which is no surprise given that this delicious treat is loved by all ages.

According to food historians, cooked bread and cheese is an ancient food, enjoyed across the world in many cultures.  The United States modern version of the grilled cheese sandwich originated in the 1920s when inexpensive sliced bread and American cheese became easily available.

Now if only we can get our hands on one or two!
