A Virginia Farm Wedding Filled with DIY Charm

April 21, 2017. Category: diy, inspiration, real wedding, virginia wedding, weddings

Set in Virginia’s breathtaking farmland this wedding is filled with just the right amount of southern charm, whimsical details and DIY touches! This adorable couple knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding and Panorama Farms was the perfect blank canvas.

This crafty couple worked on many projects during their 17-month engagement here are just a few:

For the ceremony the bride spruced up the grapevine arch and ceremony chairs with various shades of peach and coral fabric that she cut them into strips herself. The result was spectacular! Especially when the wind was blowing.

Along with one of her bridesmaids (who just happened to be have a background in graphic design), the bride created a logo incorporating the barn and the couple’s initials. The logo was used on everything from their invitations to koozies, and all of signage.

The burlap runners on the tables were trimmed with fabric the couple purchased in India.

The couple made the chalkboard sign with a layout of the barn, so the guests could find the restroom or donut truck at any point throughout the night.

This sweet couple’s classic wedding at the Hay-Adams was the perfect spring soirée, with a dreamy pastel palette, delicate embroidered fabrics, and timely cherry blossom accents in our nation’s capital! The bride carried an elegant bouquet of pastel-hued roses, hydrangeas, ranunculus, and garden roses by Highway to Hill that we are still swooning over!

Happy First Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Flak we wish you a lifetime of love and laughter!

How to incoprorate Pantone Greenery into your wedding

February 02, 2017. Category: decor, dessert, details, Flowers, inspiration, Invitations, real wedding

We are always excited to see which color Pantone will select as the color of the year and as many of you know this year they selected Pantone Greenery 15-0343

Pantone describes this color as:

“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

We couldn’t think of a better color choice for 2017, as with the beginning of every year, we all look to refresh, revitalize and seek new beginnings!

Greenery has been described as “a versatile and trans-seasonal” shade that lends itself to many color combinations and can be  paired with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels and metallics.”

Greenery is a wonderful color to incorporate into a wedding. From invitations, to flowers, to even welcome bags the possibilities are endless! Below are a few ways we were able to thread this versatile color throughout this lovely wedding seamlessly.

Chinese New Year Inspired Wedding

January 28, 2017. Category: Chinese New Year, inspiration, real wedding, weddings

Happy Chinese New Year! Did you know that 2017 is a Fire Rooster Year. According to Chinese astrology, each year is associated with one of five elements as well as an animal, this year is a fire year, the last Fire Rooster Year was 1957.

See how one of our favorite couple’s celebrated their wedding and the Chinese New Year all at once.

The couple knew that we would not be able to tell everyone just how special they were, so they  decided to write love notes to each of their guests. They put the notes in red envelopes embellished with a traditional Chinese symbol for “double happiness” hand-stamped in gold ink.

As a fun way to welcome their guests to the reception, the couple performed a traditional Lion Dance, which also served as a welcome to the New Year, complete with three elaborate colored lions.
