A little Naughty and a Little Nice

October 09, 2009. Category: bachelorette, hair

Las Vegas is no longer just a playground for the boys – after all, girls just wanna have fun too! What better way to celebrate your girlfriend’s last weekend as a single lady than to get a little rowdy in Sin City! Vegas is superior for it’s hot nightclubs, lavish shopping, beautiful spas, and some of the top chefs in the country cooking up great food every night.

The first stop to creating an unforgettable bachelorette weekend is to spend a day doing nothing but primping and pampering at one of the best spa destinations in the United States. Vegas is the perfect place to spend several hours or a whole day getting your hair done, manicuring your nails, enjoying a steamy facial or even luxuriating with an incredibly relaxing massage.

When you’re in Vegas you definitely want to stay on the Strip, and you definitely want to hit up one of these spas as a kickoff to what is promised to be an incredible weekend.
Spa Bellagio at The Bellagio
Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venetian and The Palazzo
and The Spa at Encore at The Wynn

These spas offer custom wraps, baths, massages, treatments and facials, and will customize any package to suit the needs of your soon-to-be-hitched girlfriend. Everyone will leave feeling relaxed and ready for a killer night on the town.

Certain spas will charge small fees if you’re not a guest at the hotel so look out for great deals on these top-rated hotels on www.govegas.about.com. Sometimes you can find specials offering discounts on packages that are inclusive of the hotel stay and spa services, and don’t be afraid to call the hotel directly.

Stayed tuned to our next few posts with great ideas and deals for your Vegas Bachelorette weekend.

The Inn at Perry Cabin

October 09, 2009. Category: venue

Finding the location for your big day is usually the most difficult part of the wedding process. If you are considering a site outside of the immedate DC area, The Inn at Perry Cabin is a beautiful option. Featured in “Wedding Crashers” it is a breathtaking property in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The spot is ideal for smaller wedding of 80 guests or less in their commodore ballroom. If you are planning a larger soiree, you will need to erect a tent and “buy out” all of the hotel’s 80 guest rooms. For a nearby-destination wedding, this spot should not be missed!

A rose by any other name

October 06, 2009. Category: decor

After looking a stack of wedding magazines you have probably chosen your favorite flowers. But, keep in mind, your favorite flower may have a strong scent- either sweet or not, you have to take this into account in your wedding plans. A sweet smelling bouquet is a great thing, but a room full of strongly scented arrangements can overwhelm your guests and take away from the flavor of their meal. Gardenia, Lilies and Tuberrose all smell amazing. Baby’s breath, not so much. Maybe Martha should have a scratch and sniff section in her next issue!

La dolce vita

October 05, 2009. Category: shape up

All of our brides are beautiful, but our most recent bride was in amazing shape. When I asked she told me her secret was cutting out sweets except for sweet riot. These little chocolates satisfied her sweet craving for just a few calories. I ran out to get some for myself and they are yummy! The only trick is keeping them away from my husband.
