10 things you may not know about Cindy!

May 26, 2016. Category: A. Dominick Events Team

We wanted to continue sharing fun facts about our team that you may not know, so now it is Cindy’s turn!

1. I don’t have my ears pierced

2. As a child I routinely received a jar of pickles as a birthday present and it is still the only item you can always find in my fridge

3. I don’t like things to end so I have never seen the last episode of many of my favorite tv shows and regularly don’t read the last 20 pages of books.

4. My drinks of choice are: iced venti unsweetened black tea, Hendricks gin gimlet, Shiner Bock and any and all sparkling wine or champagne.

5. I am obsessed with DisneyWorld and have gotten used to the “you are going to Disney without kids” judgemental look

6. I remember every wedding date ever off the top of my head

7. I never take leftovers from restaurants

8. I have an irrational fear of peeling paint

 9. My favorite class in college was Stat 118: Regression Analysis. One of my proudest moments was the professor taking me out of the curve for every single test and let me tell you ruining the curve in an advance statistics class no one wants to take but is required to makes you wildly popular

10. I don’t have a microwave which may further explain point #7

Destination Wedding Tips!

May 23, 2016. Category: destination wedding, how to, planning, weddings

Though getting married on a sandy beach in the Caribbean or at a French Chateau in the South of France sounds magical, planning a destination wedding can be very  overwhelming! Here are a few tips on how to make planning your destination wedding a little bit easier!

Amory Donelly and Sean McAndrew1. We often recommend that couples take the necessary steps to ensure that their wedding is legal when they return to the states. It is always a good idea to be aware of the local (foreign) laws

2. As most destination wedding ceremonies take place outside, you will want to make sure your guests are comfortable during the ceremony. A great option is providing a parasol or handheld fan which will keep your guests cool and is a nice keepsake!

3. We find hair and make up to be one of the more challenging aspects of a destination wedding. Whenever possible it is best to do a trial with the local options early on in your planning process. Even if the exact hair style  or make up look changes closer to the wedding a trial early on will allow you to evaluate their skill set and decide if it is worth bringing someone in for the weekend. Unlike other vendors that have a lot of stuff, hair stylists and make up artists easily travel to any destination

4. Don’t honeymoon at the same resort as your wedding. Many of your guests will choose to extend their trip beyond your wedding weekend and while you love your family and friends you don’t want your honeymoon to feel like a family reunion. If you want to stay in the same destination at least consider switching resorts so you can enjoy some alone time as a married couple.
