Congratulations Jermaine and Scott

This handsome couple wanted a wedding that was “classic and elegant without pretense,” so they chose the Meridian House—a historic D.C. home known for its impressive European-style architecture for their gorgeous September wedding!

This dapper duo arrived to their wedding, in a 1964 Rolls-Royce with a eucalyptus garland. Amaryllis Floral & Event Design covered the doorway
with white Tibet roses, smilax vines, bush ivy, and eucalyptus creating a stunning backdrop to welcome their guests.

Their intimate garden ceremony focused on family: Scott entered with his sisters, and Jermaine with his mom – each chose a sibling to be his “best person.”

After the couple exchanged emotional vows, guests enjoyed cocktails in the property’s grove of linden trees, then moved indoors for dinner.

The couple wanted a “romantic but modern” reception, so they opted for pillar candles on risers, chic tableware, and tall beveled glass vases filled with flowing white dendrobium orchids (along with other mixed florals).

The couple’s chic invitation suite by Cheree Berry Paper was inspired by the gilded mirrors, gold trim, and architecture of the Meridian House.

Marigold & Grey created welcome boxes that showcased “their story,” popcorn from Scott’s home state of Iowa, Mississippi cheese straws for Jermaine, gourmet chocolates from their home in Washington D.C., homemade “Ted’s Tarts” from their favorite comfort food restaurant, and of course, a Beyoncé cookie, because they’re big fans and even chose “Halo” as the processional song for their ceremony!

Happy First Anniversary to one of the loveliest couples we have had the pleasure of knowing!

We wish you a lifetime of love, laughter and many more adventures.

Falling for Fall

September 14, 2018. Category: Fall, fall wedding, trends, Washington DC, wedding inspiration

When the air turns crisp and leaves begin to change, the charm of a fall wedding is irresistible – It really is one of the perfect times of year to get married!

Although the first “official” day of fall is still a few weeks away, we got to experience our first cooler days this past weekend. Though we know they will be short lived, this is DC after all! Like many things in the city, the weather is “unpredictable” although it did have us dreaming of one of our favorite Fall colors palettes this season: Moody Plums and Rich Burgundy – The perfect colors for any elegant affair!

From bridal bouquets, to bridesmaid dresses, wedding stationery and decor, the possibilities of adding these versatile colors to your Fall or Winter wedding are endless.

Here are a few ways we had incorporated this gorgeous hue into some of our DC Weddings.

Congratulations Sophie and J.D.

September 09, 2018. Category: anniversary, luxury wedding, real wedding, tented wedding, weddings

Lovingly referred to as a “Baltimore merger” by their parents. This luxury tented wedding was a dream for the A. Dominick team.

Sophie and J.D.’s perfect September soirée encompassed an enthusiasm for their home state of Maryland, in a setting familiar to the couple since childhood.

The festivities began with the couple exchanging vows in downtown Baltimore’s St. Ignatius church, where Sophie’s own parents had become Mr. and Mrs.

Followed by dinner and dancing at the bride’s parents house.

Family and friends were invited to the reception and to discover their seat at the wall of Old Bay; an indiscreet nod to the couple’s fondness for Maryland blue crabs.

At each place setting, a delightful blue crab place card clung to Champagne flutes and a monogrammed napkin delicately embroidered with the couple’s crest was the perfect finishing touch.

Custom cummerbunds adorned with Maryland’s favorite crab element were proudly worn by J.D. and his groomsmen, which included both couple’s brothers and fathers.

A treasured family heirloom, the car became a key feature of the couple’s love and marriage, appearing on both their invitation suite welcome bags!

The couple created gorgeous  custom navy + pale blue paper goods with gold accents by Cheree Berry Paper

Tiny crab illustrations, a custom monogram and a hand-drawn map on the invitation liner are just a few of the amazing details they incorporated into their wedding day!

Happy First Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Nelson. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, laughter and love!
