With the holiday season almost in full swing, it is hard to believe it is already Thanksgiving and that another year has almost come to an end!
This Thanksgiving we wanted to take a minute and share what we are all thankful for and of course it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving if we didn’t sprinkle in a few of our favorite recipes or dishes!
Aimee: I am thankful for: My health. This is a big one for me this year. I feel we so often (as women) pick out our faults with our body, but I’m really trying to be grateful for all my body can do and how healthy I am. And of course, my family and our amazing clients!
Favorite recipe: Alton Browns brined turkey has been a staple for years and we added Momofuku crack pie last year. This year, we are trying a few new/unconventional recipes: Thomas Keller’s leek bread pudding instead of stuffing and Pioneer Woman pumpkin cheesecake.
Christina: My favorite part of Thanksgiving is gathering with family. My immediate family and I travel down to North Carolina every year to spend Thanksgiving with my dad’s side of our family. When my paternal grandmother was still with us she emphasized the importance of spending time with one another, so my dad and his siblings have rotated who hosts Thanksgiving and Christmas every year in her honor. That may sound like a big undertaking, but there are 6 siblings (plus all of their children!) to share in the fun and joy of hosting.
I’m grateful to have a family that makes it a priority to spend good, quality time together. It doesn’t hurt that we sincerely love each other too.
Favorite recipe: My favorite Thanksgiving dish is sweet potato pie! I think I love this pie specifically because it’s a recipe my mom learned from her grandfather and she has since passed it down to my sister and I. It’s super yummy, but also sentimental!
Debby: I am thankful for my amazing family, my two delicious, sweet and messy little boys, my dear friends and my wonderful co-workers. Life is very busy and hectic these days so I am really trying to be more present and live in the moment and I couldn’t think of a better way to do that than to be with my family all gathered together on Thanksgiving.
Favorite recipe: For those who know me well cooking is well, not my greatest skill but I do LOVE Pie, especially on Thanksgiving so my favorite dish would have to be Pecan Pie.
