If you’ve been asked to be a maid of honor (or matron of honor) in your best friend or sister’s wedding this is not only a huge honor, but a role that should be taken seriously and with stride. Your main role is really to be the biggest supporter of the bride during the planning of her wedding and more importantly her wedding day.

Here are 5 things every Maid of Honor should do for the bride on her wedding day!

1. As a maid of honor be prepared to jump in and help with anything. Abby Grace Photography
2. Carry the brides cell phone! As the maid of honor hold onto the bride’s phone for her and take photos throughout the wedding so at the end of the night when the party is over, she can relive all of the special moments all over again!

3. Learn how to do the bride’s bustle or at least have the wedding planner show you, so you can assist if need be.

4. Always have a small emergency kit with Advil, bandaids, anything you can think of! We like the Pinch Provisions Minimergency Kit for Brides as they have everything you need in the most adorable little case that can easily fit in your clutch. Bonnie Sen Photography
5. Have your own dress ordered, altered and ready to go well before the wedding. Make sure that the other bridesmaids do the same, the bride should not have to be chasing everyone to make sure they have their dresses she has enough to worry about. Bonnie Sen Photography
