Happy First Anniversary Amanda and Ben!

This classic DC wedding was full of southern charm! Amanda grew up in the area so she knew she always wanted a DC wedding! Ben however, did not. Ben’s home state is Mississippi and the couple knew they wanted to include his southern roots in their wedding at The National Museum of Women in The Arts. To achieve this, they picked an iconic DC venue and brought in some elements of the outdoors and the south to make it feel (a little) more relaxed.

They incorporated magnolia leaves into the bouquets by the bar, which is the state tree of Mississippi. Which was such a sweet nod to Ben’s home!

Amanda wanted neutral soft colors throughout the day so she chose a dusty pink for her bridesmaids and added in elements of light blue, grey, and white throughout. Maybe they were drawn to the blue because it is close to Columbia blue – their alma mater!

One of the things that was most very important to couple was that even though they were having a black tie wedding, they didn’t want it to feel stuffy or uptight. They wanted people to just be able to relax and let loose since most of their guests were traveling to attend.

The bride’s favorite memory was just dancing and singing the night away with her new husband and all the people they love most in the world!

Wishing you both a lifetime of love and laughter!
